Green pepper study2 with underpainting

Appr 15x18 cm oil linen Its not all finished and maybe I just let it be as is. I worked over a toned ground and made a grey tone underpainting, working with a grafite pencil into a white basecoat, that made an optical grey with the toned ground. I let that dry before moving on. And this is the next step. I did kind of the same with a portrait study recently, with the difference that with the portrait it was a line drawing and no form work, so the second step became the underpainting for the colors to follow. I was just interested in the way the whole system worked surface paint brushes to make and get the tones working.
